A SOUTH Lakeland post office has reopened at a new location.

Bowland Bridge Post Office opened its doors at Cartmel Fell Parish Hall on Tuesday.

This has restored the Post Office service to the community.

The postmaster for Grange-over-Sands is offering Post Office services from the new location.

Previously, he provided the outreach service at the Hare and Hounds pub, in Bowland Bridge, near Grange.

However, this was stopped in March amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

The new post office is open one day a week - on Tuesdays, between 1pm and 3pm.

A Post Office spokesman said: “We were keen to restore services to the community as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.

“However, we would still like to hear the opinions of customers and interested parties, and are inviting comments on the reopening.”

The deadline for providing feedback is November 4.
