ONE of the major players in the Cumbrian dairy industry has announced a November farmgate milk price rise.
First Milk, with 250 Cumbrian farmers on its books, said the rise of 0.5ppl, taking the liquid standard litre to 27.75ppl and manufacturing to 28.69ppl, was on the back of strong business performance and improved market returns, but warned there was considerable potential for disruption in coming months.
