MP Tim Farron has been preparing for tomorrow's Great Langdale half marathon, which he is running to raise funds for St John's Hospice.

While he was in London this week the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP ventured near London Zoo for a rather interesting practice run.

"It was very exciting," said Mr Farron.

"I had animals making noises at me."

The MP previously said he was "in awe" of the work that St John's Hospice does.

The charity provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions in the South Lakes, North Lancashire and parts of North Yorkshire.

The Brathay Trust, which is organising the event, says it is planning a model for the marathon on October 24 that meets government Coronavirus guidelines.
