A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called out after a walker fainted near Helvellyn in an operation lasting three hours.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out on the afternoon of November 14 by the North West Ambulance Service, with regards to a walker who had fainted near the top of Birkside, near Helvellyn.
The rescue team said in a statement that the exact location of the casualty was unknown and that the team was unable to get back in touch with the party who was with the casualty, as their mobile phone had run out of battery.
They then decided to contact Keswick Mountain Rescue Team to assist, who managed to locate the casualty party two hours later and escort them down towards Thirlmere.
