Kendal’s Mark Wilson has missed out on England’s 25-man squad.

Head Coach Eddie Jones announced the squad on Wednesday.

England are set to face Ireland in the Autumn Nations Cup.

The game will take place at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 21st November.

However, Wilson, who attended Kirkbie Kendal School, will play no part during the match.

The flanker has returned to his domestic club Newcastle Falcons to continue his rehabilitation from an injury.

Wilson had been completing his comeback at The Lensbury in Teddington.

However, he has now returned to Newcastle.

Last season, a knee injury kept the former Kendal RUFC player out of action for two months whilst on loan at Sale Sharks.

Wilson has missed all of England’s fixtures through injury since March.

This included England’s Six Nations finale against Italy.

Beating Italy 34-5 in Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, Eddie Jones’ side were crowned winners of the Six Nations.

Despite missing out on the final win, Wilson received a winners’ medal.

Notably, the Kendal flanker was praised for his performance during England’s 33-30 win over Wales.

The 31-year-old has played 17 times for England, scoring five points.
