BARRROW Borough Council has reminded residents about the importance of leaving their bins out for collection at an appropriate time.
During the last week, the council's Streetcare Team took to the streets to blitz areas of the town, working in partnership with waste contractor FCC.
The team started on the backstreets of Duncan Street and made their way towards Clifford Street.
The team spent a day going door-to-door advising residents about leaving their bins out.
The following day they returned to remove bins that were left out and relevant enforcement action was taken.
Bins can be put out be put out from 12pm the day before it is due to be collected and it must be returned to your property as soon as possible on the day of your collection.
Excess waste should be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Walney Road, or a special collection can be arranged by calling 01229 876542.
If you have information relating to fly-tipping or people regularly putting black bags out, contact the Streetcare team at: streetcare@barrowbc.gov.uk
The team will be continuing their work around the Bath Street and Ainslie Street areas.
