THE RACES at Cartmel attract thousands of visitors and hundreds of professional riders every year.
Today the Westmorland Gazette is revisiting some of the memoriable moments at Cartmel.
In 2014, rider Joe Colliver was forced to begin a spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken wrist in a fall at the races.
He made a fully recovery soon after.
Also, that year, many visitors wore sunflower badges after their donations to St Mary's Hospice.
In 2015, James Moffatt’s Morning Royalty, ridden by Brian Hughes, made an impressive performance during his run at the Nikki’s Celebration Beginners’ Chase.
