A BEER company that has launched a new range with Blackburn Rovers has announced plans to partner with clubs all over Lancashire.

Hops and Shots have already rolled out three new ranges in partnership with the club including Rovers Lager, Champions Golden Ale and Ewood Bitter.

For commercial director and lifelong Rovers fan Tony Greenwood this has been an ideal partnership, but one which he hopes is just the beginning.

He said: "To do a beer with my hometown club, which I've supported as a boy is great, I've been a season ticket holder since '88 and so it's great for us to be associated with Rovers.

"But we've got more big plans for the product."

The Chorley-based company first launched in March this year and quickly found that its method of delivering a wide range of fresh craft beers straight to customers doors proved extremely popular as lockdown gave people cause to look to different sources for their favourite drinks.

Hops and Shots has since gone from strength-to-strength with several new initiatives, including a collaboration with celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

The company has also brewed a beer in partnership with UFC fighter Darren Till, which is now on sale.

Mr Greenwood says that the firm now plans to partner with other football clubs along with rugby and cricket clubs all over the county to produce new club inspired beers.

Mr Greenwood said: "We're talking to other clubs in other sports.

"The whole idea was if the fans are having a beer, why not have a beer that supports your club?"

He added: "We've had a blast, we've already sold half our stock!"

Not only that, but ingredients will be sourced locally with brewing taking place in Lancashire to ensure a strong local flavour.

Next up in the company's plans is to start selling its products on Amazon and to expand partnerships with off licenses around the county.

There are also plans to launch a beer subscription service, most likely coming into effect in January, that will allow customers that will allow customer to pay a monthly fee and that choose whichever samples they wish.
