A KENDAL man has been jailed after possessing cocaine.
John Edward Calvert, 34, of Camms Yard, Stricklandgate, pleaded guilty to possessing the drug as well as buprenorphine on December 5.
Mr Calvert failed to surrender to custody at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, told to pay a victims surcharge of £128 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The seized drugs are to be destroyed by Cumbria Constabulary.
