An updated weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for snow and ice, covering most of Cumbria.
The yellow weather warning, the lowest warning that can be issued, comes into force at midnight tonight and is due to last until 6pm tomorrow.
A band of rain and heavy snow may lead to travel disruption the Met Office has warned.
The Met Office said: "An area of rain pushing eastwards is expected to turn to snow in places. Snow is likely to fall to low levels over east Scotland and northern England for a time on the leading edge of the rain before the snow level rises to above 300 to 400m by mid morning.
"Icy stretches are also likely with rain and wet snow falling onto sub zero surfaces at times."
