Barrow AFC have announced that Mark Hetherington has stepped down from his role as club director.
The Bluebirds also confirmed that Mr Hetherington will no longer be an active investor in the club.
A club statement said: “Mark was instrumental, alongside Paul Hornby, in pulling together the current owners group in late 2018 and has made a significant contribution to the progress of the club both on and off the pitch since then.
“His energy, knowledge and enthusiasm will be missed at the club, but he understandably feels that he needs to concentrate on the health challenges he faces personally and also those of his family.
"We would like to wish Mark well in those challenges and also thank him for all he has done for the club.”
Although he has now left Holker Street, Mr Hetherington will now become a life patron of the club.
To fill the void left by Mr Hetherington’s departure, Paul Hornby and Barrow’s owners are now looking for a new ownership member willing to acquire a 10 per cent shareholding.
