AN OPTICIANS is expanding into new purpose-built premises set to improve the patient experience.

Team members from the Ulverston opticians have expressed their excitement at moving to new premises.

Eye Care Excellence, currently on Market Street, is moving to King Street, just a two-minute walk away.

All current staff, many of whom have been with the practice for many years, will be continuing to lend their expertise at the new location, which will also have the advantage of a new and improved range of frames, as well as the latest in eye-care technology.

The King Street premises will also boast an open plan pre-screening area, an additional consulting room and space for a dedicated and full audiology service.

The team hope to have moved into their new home by May.

Although Eye Care Excellence’s current premises on Market Street is up for sale, the practice will not be affected and all services will continue to be provided as expected.

Practice director and optometrist Laura Roberts, who took over the practice with husband Mark in 2018, said: “All of us at Eye Care Excellence are so excited to move into the new premises which will allow us to provide an even better experience for our patients.

“The move will allow us to grow into a thoroughly modern practice, with a bright frame display, more spacious facilities and state-of-the-art technology, including an OCT alongside our Optomap.

“Most importantly for us, however, is that the same friendly faces of our team members will all still be there to welcome you, and at a location that is just a short walking distance away."

Fellow director Elysia Harvey said: “We’d also like to thank our patients for all of their support and patience throughout this period, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our new home in a few months’ time.”

Eye Care Excellence reassured patients that the practice remains open for eyecare, eyewear and hearing care appointments, despite the lockdown restrictions.
