CUMBRIA County Council say they've had an 'influx' of couples looking to get married after the Government announced the staggered end of the Coronavirus lockdown.
A spokesman yesterday (Wednesday) said: "Our registration service have received an influx of calls about ceremonies since the prime minister's announcement on Monday.
"Please only contact the service if your ceremony is due to take take place in the next few weeks and you need to make urgent changes.
"If you are calling about a ceremony from May onwards, either a new booking or changes to a pre-existing one, please give the team a week or so before making contact.
"This'll give them chance to get up to date with the enquiries.
"We understand that you will be eager to make your booking or changes, and your patience at this very busy time is much appreciated."
