The 10 most expensive areas and streets in Cumbria

Figures from Zoopla suggest that the average property price in the county is £189,786- but some homes can fetch much more than these, even creeping into the millions.

With the help of Zoopla, we have tracked down some of the most expensive areas and streets in the county of Cumbria- and can also reveal how much a house could cost you if you chose to live on these streets.

We have also narrowed down that search and have found the most expensive areas in and around Kendal too.

The 10 most expensive streets and areas in Cumbria

According to the Zoopla data, Windermere reigns supreme when it comes to the highest value streets, occupying seven out of ten rankings.

These figures are based on the average property value in a given area.

According to the data, the highest value street in Cumbria is Newby Bridge Road in Windermere.

The average property value on this street is an eye-watering £1,583,146.

However, some properties on the street have sold for much more than this in the past.

One five bedroom property last sold for £1,850,000 and has a current upper estimated value of £3.36m.

In second place is Old Hall Road in Windermere, where the average property value is £1,276,550.

One of the pricier properties on the road was last sold for £1,650,000 and has an upper estimated value of £3.48m.

Ambleside also features twice on the list, with Great Langdale coming in at fourth.

This average property in Great Langdale is £1,064,247 and the average value of the area has increase by 4.63 per cent in the last 12 months.

One of the more expensive properties sold for £2.8 million a few years ago and has a current estimated value of £2.7 million.

Manesty in Keswick also makes a brief appearance on the list- it is rated as the sixth highest value place in Cumbria.

The average property price here is £1,001,551.

However, homes on the street have been known to sell for upwards of £1.2 million.

According to the Zoopla statistics, Holbeck Lane in Windermere is in tenth place- but the average property price on the street is still an eye-watering £955,311.

One house sold for £700,000 but now has an upper estimated value of £1.37 million.

The most expensive areas and streets in and around Kendal

Using data from Zoopla, we have also tracked down the highest value streets and areas in and around Kendal.

The average property value in Kendal is £288,495 (according to Zoopla)- these five listing are at least  £315,000 more than this.

Kentmere

According to Zoopla, this is the Kendal area with the highest average property value of £678,031.

However, properties on the street have been known to sell for as much as £775,000.

Coming in at second place is Longsleddale.

The average property value here is £671,592- but houses have sold for much more than this in the past.

One property sold for over £800,000 a few years ago and now has an estimated value of £843,000-£1.03 million.

Crook

The average property value for Crook is £625,903.

However, some properties in the area can be worth as much as £1.17 million.

If you were hoping to buy an up market property in Cumbria, you might be in luck.

This five bedroom home is on the market in Crook for £795,000.

Crosthwaite

The average property in Crosthwaite has an estimated value of £614,438.

One house in the area was last sold for £810,000 and others have an estimated value of nearly £1 million.

This may be the last area on Zoopla’s list, but properties on Queens Road still have an estimated value of £603,810.

Homes on the street have been known to sell for as much as £640,000 and others have an estimated upper value of £880,000.
