IF you think parking fees are high in Cumbria, you should try living in London.

We have already taken a look how London’s property prices compare to Cumbria’s and some of the statistics were pretty shocking.

As it turns out, it’s actually cheaper to get a mortgage than buy some parking spaces in the capital.

This particular parking spot is in York House Place, London and is listed on Zoopla for a whopping £190,000.

Thankfully, property prices are no way near as expensive in Cumbria and we will never (hopefully) have similar parking problems to London.

We wanted to showcase some of the fantastic properties for sale in Kendal- all of which cost the same or less than this London parking spot.

Here are just five that we found on Zoopla:

Hollins Row, Burneside
£185,000

This property is £5000 less than the London parking spot listed above.

The two bedroom house is described as a great “investment” property, with plenty of character and charm.

It is well presented with neutral décor- ideal for those wanting to put their own individual stamp on a property.

The lounge is the focal point of the property, as it benefits from a hearth with surrounding tiles.

The kitchen has been fitted with modern and attractive fittings and is perfect for foodies.

On the market for a two bedroom property?

If so, you’re in luck as this Kendal home has a lot to offer its new owner.

The property is described as “generously portioned” and completed to an “exacting specification”.

The built-in appliances are top of the range and all of the fittings have a contemporary aesthetic.

This home is described as “ideal” for first time buyers or even investors.

The property has three bedrooms, a good size lounge, a shower room- and it’s still £10,500 cheaper than the London parking space listed above.

Arguably, the best part about the property are the views.

From your bedroom window, you can enjoy views over Kendal town centre, towards The Lakeland Fells and beyond.

Serpentine Road
£190,000

For the exact same price as the London parking spot above, you could get this terraced home.

The “charming” cottage has two bedrooms and some quirky features.

It has been totally restored and renovated, while still retaining many of its period features.

The hallway is one of the most eye-catching places in the house, as it has striking oak and glass balustrade frames with an exposed stone wall behind and a useful under stairs store cupboard.

The lounge is also another focal point, as it benefits from a feature fireplace.

Highgate
£180,000

This two bedroom flat is £10,000 less than the capital’s parking spot- which one would you opt for?

The flat looks like a dream place to live.

The lounge is spacious, with feature lighting and high ceilings. During the day, you get plenty of natural light with views overlooking Kendal Castle.

The kitchen would be a foodie’s heaven as it is fitted with modern fixtures and is surprisingly large.
