AN officer fells he can be his ‘true authentic self’ thanks to working for an ‘inclusive police force’.

Cumbria police are supporting LGBTQ+ History Month and paying homage to those who paved the way to equal rights.

PC Adrian Tyson, chair of Cumbria Police Pride Network, said he can be his ‘true authentic self’ in Cumbria Constabulary.

He said: “The rights of the LGBTQ+ people in Britain have come a long way in the last 100 years, but this didn’t come easy.

“Working for an inclusive police force means I can be my true authentic self and be the voice for our network members.”

A police spokesman said: “This month is UK LGBTQ+ History Month and as a force we are proud to support this along with members of our Cumbria Police Pride Network.”
