A RUGBY league side has announced a new head coach for its youth offering.

Egremont Rangers has appointed Gary Elliot as its new head youth coach.

A club spokesperson said: “This is a critical role within the club which will see Gary develop a strategy going forward to create a coaching structure that will help us get to where we all want to be.

“Gary has many skills and traits that will help him succeed.”

Kevin Brown is also set to take over as secretary of the youth branch.

The club said: “Kevin is extremely well thought of within the club and has over the years built great relationships within the game. He has great organisational skills and will focus on helping our famed youth section flourish.”

“We all have a part to play in helping both Gary and Kevin achieve the exacting standards fitting of the great club we all represent.”

Egremont Rangers is a club that is passionate about supporting its community. Players, particularly the youth, are encouraged by their coaches to support their community.

To that end, its players have recently been picking up litter in their town, just weeks after completing a fundraising challenge in aid of those most in need.
