SHUT: The footpath alongside Ulverston Canal will be closed
A PUBLIC footpath is due to be closed for nearly two weeks whilst essential gas works take place.
The public footpath along Ulverston Canal (number 578016) will be temporarily closed next month whilst maintenance works are carried out.
Ulverston Town Council revealed that Cadent are undertaking works to the gas pipe in this area and have applied to the county council to temporarily close the footpath from May 24.
The footpath will be shut for approximately 12 days and will reopen on Friday June 4.
