A SHOP owner has said it is 'such a relief' to be finally open after months of lockdown and uncertainty.

Pandy Grenville-Evans owns The Kitten and The Goat on New Shambles in Kendal and throughout the lockdown has kept busy preparing click and collect orders and sending out online deliveries from the craft shop, but the businesswoman has said it has not been the same.

“It’s such a relief to be open again,” she said.

“The shop’s been closed but I’ve been in working, doing click and collect, posting things out.

“But it’s been a slog and it’s so nice to see people back again.

“I love what I do.

“My business is very hands-on people like to see it and bring their things in for me to sort out.

“We have a little dog in the shop who has his favourite visitors, it’s a very face to face community thing.”

The ‘Aladdin’s cave of treasure’ sells a huge range of craft materials, wool, as well as incorporating The Posh Dog Company offering fashionable canine accessories.

Ms Grenville-Evans, who has been operating from New Shambles for nine years, has seen huge support from customers during the first week back.

“It seems like a great weight has been lifted from everybody and people have been waiting to come in and get what they want,” she said.

“It’s such a nice atmosphere in the town.”
