THE food hygiene rating for a Millom eatery has been revealed.
The café at Millom Network Centre was awarded a hygiene rating of three out of five in an inspection carried out by local authority officers earlier this year.
All three inspection areas at the site on the Devonshire Road Industrial Estate were found to be ‘generally satisfactory’.
The three categories of assessment were as follows:
•Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, reheating, cooling and storage.
•Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand-washing facilities and pest control - to enable good food hygiene.
•Management of food safety - system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
