NHS Barrow and Millom staff have thanked the public in a new video.

This video was made by Barrow and Millom Primary Care Network, which includes 10 GPs practices.

In the video, staff say: “On behalf of the 10 practices in Barrow and Millom, we want to say thank you.

“Thank you to our families for understanding why we’ve been working late, working weekends, trying to vaccinate as many people as possible.

“Thank you to the volunteers who’ve supported the deployment of the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history.

“Thank you for all your generous food donations that have helped us through our clinics.

“Thank you for coming in and being vaccinated.

“Thank you to our police, our firefighters and our newsagents. The online deliver driver who leaves things right outside our door.”

The film was produced by North West-based filmmaker Jane Bebington of Gorgeous Media.

Dr Sarah Arun, local GP and Clinical Director of Barrow and Millom Primary Care Network, said the video came about as staff wanted to thank the public for their support throughout the pandemic.

She said: “We wanted to produce a video to show how grateful all of us are for the way the people of Barrow and Millom have responded to the vaccination programme.

“It was a joint effort by all staff in the practices and our volunteers at the vaccination clinic. Everyone who was asked to be part of the video jumped at the chance to be involved, and I’m sure all our colleagues share that enthusiasm.

“The response to the vaccination programme locally so far has been great and we want everyone to know that they have all done a brilliant job as a community together, but we still have more to do and we would like everyone’s support."
