Kirkby Lonsdale Community Interest Company is teaming up with the Yorkshire Dales National Park to bring a series of ‘Nature Nurture’ walks to residents of the Lune Valley.
The Nature Nurture walks will take place at the end of June and will be led by a Yorkshire Dales National Park ranger who will teach the group about the trees and animals around them during a stroll near Kirkby Lonsdale.
There will also be a starry night walk where walkers can learn about stars and space along the way and enjoy the walk’s end with a campfire and marshmallows at Ruskin’s View.
The collaboration between Kirkby Lonsdale Community Interest Company and Yorkshire Dales National Park aims to unite the community with the outdoors and encourage people to learn about and respect the environment, while improving their own physical and mental wellbeing.
Janet Nuttall, town and tourism manager, said: “Over the last year, as a community interest company, we have realised how important it is to keep provide wellbeing opportunities to our community especially going beyond lockdown.
"We want to offer a variation of activities so that there is something for everyone and. I’m really looking forward to seeing people connect with nature as we work with the Yorkshire Dales National Park.”
