POLICE have warned the public to be careful of romance fraud.
Romance fraud typically grows from an online connection and suspects move on to request money from their victim after gaining their trust, according to police.
A South Lakes Police spokesman said: " Romance fraud is real and can cost victims thousands. Typically growing from an online connection, suspects play on the victims good nature and move on to request money."
