THE Kendal and District Tennis League saw some smashing play last week as the league tables are starting to take shape since it started at the end of April.

One of the biggest results from last week came on Monday night in Men’s 2 division when Coniston saw their win streak broken by Kendal A in a 5-5 draw, however they still remain at the top of the league and the individual player rankings.

In the same division, Arnside A won 6-2 against Endmoor who are yet to pick up a win and Kirkby Lonsdale won away at North Lonsdale A 5-4.

The only action in the Ladies 1 division saw Kendal losing away to Lancaster 8-2 and then an away win for Heversham at North Lonsdale.

Heversham were also successful in the Men’s 1 division with a victory over Windermere 8-1 last Monday and a win away against Slyne A on Saturday. Kirkby Stephen also claimed an 8-0 victory over Wanderers.

It was a home advantage week in the Men’s 3 division as Bowerham claimed 7-2, 5-4, and 0-8 victories over Slyne B, Arnside B, and Slyne C respectively.

Lunesdale B also beat Slyne C 8-1 but lost later in the week 0-8 away at Bolton-le-Sands B.

The only action in the Mixed 1 division saw clean sweeps for Heversham over Kendal A with star performances from Katherine Lucas and Harriet Glaves in their partnerships with Joe Alaimo and Roger Aubrey respectively as they won 8-0. The other match up saw Coniston A winning 8-0 against Slyne A.

In the Mixed 2 division the only match last week saw Kirkby Lonsdale draw 4-4 at home against Kendal B.
