Cumbria's first-ever Unity Festival is set to take place this weekend – and everyone in the county is invited.

Following on from the success of the Carlisle and Kendal Unity Festivals, the virtual event will be launched on Saturday (June 19), aiming to advance equality and celebrate diversity across Cumbria.

The family-friendly event – organised by AWAZ Cumbria – will highlight the importance of connecting in the absence of physical presence, the impact our actions can have on others, and just how intertwined all our lives are.

Workshops and activities will be available throughout the day, and also during this week, in the run up to the event.

The online festival will begin at 12pm.

To take part in the free event, or to find out more about the activities available throughout the week, visit the Cumbria Unity Festival Facebook page, or head to the group's website at www.cumbriaunity.org.
