AN ULVERSTON band is set to release a brand new EP this month.

Partial Recovery is the latest release from post-punk and new wave inspired band Riot Androids.

The five-man band is made up of lead singer and rhythm guitar player Callum Penny, lead guitarist Edward Doyle, keyboard player and backing vocalist Kyle Theobald, drummer and percussionist Michael Frost and bass player Robert Sadler.

The band originally met through Ulverston Victoria High School’s Sixth Form College, with newer members joining later on.

They play regular gigs in Manchester and Carlisle, along with venues in Ulverston.

Their debut EP Neuron Addict which was released in 2017 had it’s title track featured multiple times on BBC Music Introducing.

The band say that their music takes influence from the likes of Joy Division, The Jam and the Clash.

June 11 saw the release of their single Instigator, while the four-track EP Partial Recovery will be released on June 25.

They have been working on the project since 2018.

Singer Callum Penny said: “The EP and tracks themselves features a few themes such as restlessness, fear, regret and spite – all tracks written by the band.

“We really wanted to push ourselves, building on our first debut EP, an original five track EP, Neuron Addict in 2017.

"We’re very excited to be sharing this with everyone and can't wait for them to hear what we’ve been working on.”

Partial Recovery will be available on all major digital streaming platforms from June 25.
