POLICE officers attended an incident in Carnforth where several people were involved in a violent altercation.
A report was made to the authorities that multiple people were seen fighting in the carpark of Tesco.
Two Police cars attended the scene after the report was made.
One person had suffered sever injuries and was taken to hospital.
The authorities have launched an appeal over the incident.
Police issued a statement on the incident.
"We were called around 3pm on (Monday, June 28 to a report of a public order offence in Carnforth," a spokesman said.
"It was reported a number of men had been involved in serious disorder in the car park at Tesco in Lodge Quarry.
"A man, aged in his 60s, suffered serious head and facial injuries, as well as a suspected broken leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
"An investigation is underway and enquiries ongoing.
"Two men, aged 33 and 26, of no fixed address, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released under investigation pending further enquiries."
