YESTERDAY, the organisers of Kendal Calling announced a smaller event at Lancaster brewery which sold out in less than two hours.

The event is taking place on July 30 and will host an acoustic set by The Lancashire Hotpots, plus DJs Howling Rhythm and Tim Peaks and sold out almost as soon as they announced it.  They are calling it 'The Official Party.'

They added followers should 'watch this space' in case any more tickets become available.

They said: "We just couldn't go two years without a party!"

"Gather your festival family & join us down at Lancaster Brewery on Fri 30th July for a pint of Kend'ale and big singalong."

All revenue from the event is going to charities which they support.

The festival was cancelled in June, when organisers said: “Monday [June 14] also saw a less publicised delay, the publication of safety guidance on how we run events.

“Without this safety guidance, there are numerous aspects of the festival we cannot plan, and which could lay us wide open to last minute unforeseen regulations or requirements which could scupper an already built festival."

They decided that they couldn't hold the event as they didn't know what safety guidelines would be in place by the time it came around and therefore couldn't plan ahead.
