CARNFORTH will be launching its Street Festival this August which will be the first of its kind.

In collaboration with the Carnforth Business Network, the Town Council organised a summer street festival scheduled for August 21.

Running from approximately 3pm to 8pm, the festival will be offering a host of enticements including a wide variety of street food, entertainment, and children’s attractions.

Market Street will be temporarily closed to road traffic to provide a safe and secure environment for young and old alike. In addition, many of our local businesses will be opening later than normal so that visitors can enjoy a leisurely afternoon combining retail therapy, gastronomic delights, and entertainment.

Councillor Steve Watson said: "I'm delighted to have been working with a group of colleagues who have brought together this fantastic event.

“We have all been through some tough times over the past 18 months or so and now that restrictions are beginning to be relaxed, we wanted to support our unique high street and the many individual businesses we have in and around Carnforth.

“We have a wide range of food and craft producers at the festival who will showcase the very best of what Carnforth has to offer.

“This event is all about supporting our retailers, and small business owners and I am sure there will be both something amazing to eat and something you may not have seen before.

“It's all about great food, fine crafts, entertainment for the family and most importantly connecting with your friends and family in a safe environment.”
