AN INCIDENT at a South Lakeland tourism hotspot earlier this evening triggered a multi-agency response.
Posts from members of the public on social media suggested a female jumped from a bridge.
A member of the public reported seeing an air ambulance land on the pitch of Kirkby Lonsdale Cricket Club, near Devil's Bridge.
A spokeswoman for the North West Air Ambulance Service confirmed the organisation attended an incident at Kirkby Lonsdale at around 7pm and said the ambulance and fire services were also at the scene.
The casualty was placed onto a stretcher and airlifted from the scene.
