The (ABOVE) letters “Lecture Hall” carved over the doorway of the meeting room, belonging to the former Zion Chapel just off Highgate, now the United Reformed Church formed in 1972.
The church was built in 1898 to replace a smaller chapel some thirty four years older in New Inn Yard.
Able to hold a congregation of 389, unfortunately the plaster ceiling fell down in 1923 and was replaced with pine boarding.
