THE food hygiene rating of a Kendal pub and nightclub has been revealed.
George and Dragon in Market Place underwent a food hygiene inspection on May 10.
The pub received a top score by inspectors from South Lakeland District Council.
The site received a glowing report from inspectors, receiving a ‘good’ for its hygienic food handling, a ‘good’ for its cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building and another ‘good’ for the management of food safety in the pub.
The pub underwent a relaunch in 2014 after changing hands. The site reopened its function room as a nightclub using its previous name of Route 66, and shows live sport every day.
The venue has a licence to stay open until 3.30am on Friday and Saturday.
The pub was forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic and is still urging customers to be responsible.
