A 1977 Star Wars figure of Luke Skywalker is expected to make a sky-high price for a Cockermouth auction house's next Vintage & Antique Toy Sale.

With a conservative estimate of just £50-£80, auctioneer Ewan Duff believes the unprecedented level of pre-sale interest could mean the figure will sell for as much as £3,000-£5,000 making it the highest price ever achieved for a single lot in a Mitchells’ Toy Sale.

Described by toy specialist Ewan as “the debut of all debuts for Palitoy on Luke Skywalker”, the figure is a ‘12 back A version’ of the toy released at the time of the first ever Star Wars movie in 1977.
