THE public has been invited to attend a conservation day at a scenic coastal nature reserve.

The event at Humphrey Head Nature Reserve, near Grange, is being held by Cumbria Wildlife Trust.

A spokesman for the charity said: "Spend a day at this scenic reserve, enjoying spectacular views across Morecambe Bay and helping our conservation work.

"We'll be removing scrub from the grassland which will help protect the populations of several rare plants."

Those attending are asked to bring suitable clothing with them - such as a waterproof jacket and trousers, sturdy footwear and a sun hat.

The October 26 event is free to attend but booking is essential. Visit the 'what's on' section of the website www.cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk for more information and to book.
