THE St John's Hospice's moonlight Walk saw 400 walkers cover the 14km route to raise funds for the service.

Supporters began to arrive at 8pm for the musical entertainment by Beyond Radio, which was sponsored by Ratcliffe & Bibby, and Samba Espirito before taking part in the warm up with Louise and Elle from Aspire Fitness, and then set off on their way at 10pm.

Members of the Law family, Carol, Georgia and Dawn, who were walking in memory of David Law, said: "The walk was so nice, perfect weather, great atmosphere, lots of amazing volunteers marshalling and keeping all the walkers safe.

"Midget gems half way to keep us going. It was nice to have children and men involved too this year as the hospice helps everybody.

"Massive thank you to every who has donated."

Cheryl Jordan was able to participate this year for the first time with her sons and husband.

She said “After losing a much loved Mum, Mother in law and Nannie in December, we just couldn’t thank the Hospice enough for the amazing care they gave during her final days.

"The work they do is above and beyond and it needs events like this to keep this place going for families and their loved one."
