QUEEN Katherine School celebrates another sporting success story as one of its students has been selected for Fleetwood Town.

Year twelve student Islay Aitken has been signed up to Fleetwood Town Wrens' Ladies football squad.

She will soon begin playing for them on the club's reserve team.

It is her ambition that she will one day be able to work her way toward the club's first team.

Islay travels to Fleetwood twice during the week to train and again at the weekend for each club game.

She will be included in the line up for the upcoming fixtures include Blackburn Ladies, Bolton Wanderers Ladies and Burnley Ladies.

Headmaster of Queen Katherine School, Jon Hayes said: “Good luck for the upcoming season Islay.

"It is great to see another of our students doing so well out of school as well as in."

Most recently Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves saw a 3-1 victory over AFC Darwen Ladies Reserves.

This was a continuation of their already impressive start to the season.

They hosted AFC Darwen at School Road and achieved a comfortable but also dominant 3-1 win.

Islay's addition to the team has been praised by her community and her school, who are all excited for her future appearance at Fleetwood.
