KENDAL Rugby Club celebrated another win in the latest match against Penrith.

Penrith entered the match in fourth place, but they had only experience one loss during an away game against League leaders Stockport.

Mike Fearon was in the Penrith squad after a season with Kendal and a few at Kirkby Lonsdale.

After five minutes, following a slow build up on the Penrith line, Liam Hayton went over from short range with Chris Park adding the conversion.

Penrith fought back and hit a three-point return with a long-range Mike Fearon penalty which crawled over the post, after Kendal had been penalised.

Later, Fearon offloaded to back row Tom Knowles in support to score, before adding the conversion.

The teams were equal after a high tackle led to Chris Park kicking a penalty to tie them on ten points each.

Glen Weightman answered back five minutes after when a kick put them down the field, and Dixon broke through to score. Another conversion got Kendal to 17 points.

The first half saw another try and kick to end on 24-10 in Kendal’s favour.

In the second half, Kendal put on a show and maintained pressure.

With the forwards camped on the line, James Gough put a pass behind his back, for Steven Nelson to run onto, and go over for his sixth try of the season.

Chris Park put over the conversion to open up a 31-10 lead.
