A Professional climber from Windermere became the first person ever to take on the entire 10,000m Classic rock route.

Anna Taylor, 23, from Windermere, has been a professional climber for the last two years and has already built an incredible succession of accomplishments.

As well as conquering the 2400km cycle route and the 10,000m climb over the two-month journey, Anna has also conquered mountains in abroad, including South America.

During her journey across England, Scotland and Wales, Anna travelled for 62 days and climbed 83 routes as listed in the ‘Classic Rock’ guide book.

She previous climbed in Roraima in November 2019 which saw her conquer a 600m route in the jungle.

In the future she has considered adventures in Greenland with her friends.

Anna said: “All together it was 83 climbs across the UK and the idea was to cycle in between each one of them.

“I have been a professional climber for two years and I started when I was ten, so well over a decade of experience.

“It’s the best thing to do and I love it.

“During the Roraima climb it took us about two weeks to do and it was an incredible thing to look out from.

“It was steep challenge in the middle of the jungle but it was such an adventure. It was our biggest challenge until this one.

“For the future I’d love to do some more travels around the world with some friends. I have a lot of friends who are into climbing.

“I have wondered about doing some climbs for charity. During lockdown the trip was on and off, logistically wise. I would have done it sooner if it wasn’t for lockdown.

“Outside of climbing I’m into fell running. Recently I’ve done some instructing for Blue Peter presenters.”
