A BARROW based fitness studio played host to a sleeping Michael Whitehall as he and comedian son Jack Whitehall filmed for their recent Netflix series.

Cumbria Pole Art’s Sarah Jones passed on her aerial yoga skills to the father and son duo while they were filming in Cumbria for their hit show Travels with My Father.

Although the footage did not make the final cut for the show, it has now been shared on Jack Whitehall’s Youtube account entitled ‘Michael Whitehall falls asleep during Aerial Yoga’.

The pair tried several yoga positions, which saw Michael get in a bit of a tangle with his hammock before bowing out from the session.

At one point the 81-year-old began tickling an unsuspecting Jack who was upside down in a yoga position.

The father-of-three then re-joined the yoga party to try out the ‘seated butterfly’ position and got out his newspaper in the process.

“Daddy are you reading the newspaper?” asked Jack.

“No I’m pupating,” said Michael.

The position was so relaxing it sent Michael to sleep while Jack and Sarah crept away from the snoring former theatrical agent.

“It was such a fun afternoon filming; Jack was definitely a natural,” said Sarah.

“Michael had potential. He had asked for a glass of red wine whilst in the yoga sling - I was glad when he settled for a newspaper.

“We teach all ages, sizes and abilities at CPA and I hope that after seeing this more people might be inspired to come and try our aerial yoga classes.”

During his Cumbrian travels, the comedian enjoyed swimming in Bassenthwaite, went on a walk up Catbells with llamas before heading to Stables Stays in Cartmel to stay overnight in a barn with a horse.
