(ABOVE) A hanging sign in Stricklandgate, opposite Prince Charlie’s House, featuring a bowler hat and monocle.
It is situated over the Italian restaurant, Pekora Nera One, a business that moved recently from the former Dunn Horse public house in Stramongate.
The sign was erected by the previous owner which had traded as Paloma.
Locals will remember the popular Ellis’s fish and chip shop.
