AN INCIDENT in which a woman pushing a pram was knocked to the ground by a car in Kendal is being investigated.

Police say the vehicle lost its passenger-side wing mirror during the collision and left the scene without stopping.

A Cumbria Constabulary spokesman said the woman who had been knocked over, in her 30s and from Kendal, had been pushing a pram with more than one child in. She fortunately suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.

"The car is described as a small black car - possibly a Volkswagen up! - with a partial registration of DW1," said the spokesman.

The incident occurred at around 3.10pm between the Station Inn and the railway station in Oxenholme Road yesterday.

Police are asking for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
