CUMBRIA Trading Standards have issued a warning over reports of a telephone banking scam.
They are urging people to remain vigilant and is urged to call 159 if they become targeted.
A spokesman said: "We have received reports of a telephone banking scam in which the caller claims to be a police officer from Paddington Police Station in London saying that you have been a victim of a banking crime.
"Anyone who receives a call or message from somebody claiming to be from a trusted organisation and who suggests money should be transferred is being urged to hang up and call 159."
