(ABOVE) A section of the bell tower on Kendal Town Hall which was built in 1825 as the White Hall, and converted into The Town Hall in 1859.
Extended in 1893 by the generosity of William and Mary Bindloss, the eleven bells in the clock tower were rung for the first time in 1897 to celebrate queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
The carillon plays a different tune each day of the week.
