STORM Irwin ripped through the local football after the James Cropper Westmorland Football League decided to cancel all of their weekend fixtures due to the conditions.

However, despite the cancellation it was business as usual in The West Lancashire League where some of the local teams played on a bitterly cold afternoon of action.

In West Lancashire League Division One, Kendal County picked up an impressive 1-1 draw at Hesketh Bank, where they faced an opponent who had defeated the Claret & Blues on two occasions in league and cup.

However, Hesketh Bank opened the scoring after 25 minutes when Nathan Gonzalez scored, Kendal battled back in the second half after young 16 year old Matthew Casson equalised for Graham Sills team as Kendal make it 4 points from the last two games.

Kendal United were in dominant form at Castle Drive in West Lancashire League Division Two after they routed Dalton United 4-0.

Kendal could have been 3-0 up within the first 30 minutes before Bailey Kenny scored an unstoppable free kick as the home team went in front.

United made it 2-0 moments later when Kenny scored his second before second half goals from Tom Russell and Joe Fleming rounded off a dominant display for the team.

In the other games Carnforth Rangers lost 3-1 at Freckleton while in Reserve Division Two Carnforth Rangers Reserves defeated Hesketh Bank Reserves 2-1.

Hesketh Bank opened the scoring on 35 minutes when Ryan Fox scored however Carnforth equalised after Ryan Bell scored on 38 minutes before Ben Turtons strike with 15 minutes left in the game saw Carnforth secure the win.

And in the final game Milnthorpe Corinthian Reserves drew 2-2 with Fulwood Amateurs A Team. Oliver Jones gave the visitors an early lead however Dan Nowells strike saw Corinthians equalise going into half time.

Matthew Billington edged Fulwood in front fifteen minutes into the second half however Tom Jacksons strike after 75 minutes saw Milnthorpe pick up the draw.
