KENDAL Rugby came away with an impressive win in their most recent clash against Douglas in the North West League One.

Despite predictions of bad weather, the game went ahead as planned with a 2pm kick off.

Unfortunately, Steve Nelson was unable to start, so Alistair Thompson replaced him at 12 and Joe Cook came onto the wing.

Kendal scored after the first five minutes, and soon after Glenn Chesher went over from a maul followed by a similar move with Chris Evans scoring and Parky converting to 12 points.

Douglas fought back and scored five points soon after.

Unfortunately, Chris Evans had to come off with an injury, and was replaced by Alex Ryder, who had a good game.

Nick Carlton scored just before half-time to climb Kendal to 19 points to five.

The second half produced a penalty try for Kendal as Dan Shorrock was high tackled in the act of scoring wide out.

Douglas could not score again despite many attempts and Kendal finished with a bonus point win.

Kendal won on 26 points against Douglas' five.

Later on, Joe Fiddler came off the bench and made his 1st team debut.

Kendal will next face Vale next week.
