A ROTARY club was back out in force this Christmas raising money with the help of a special visitor.

Lunesdale Rotary Club put on a festive display outside Booths in Kirkby Lonsdale and raised more than £600 in the process, which will go to local good causes.

Shoppers were treated to Father Christmas in his sleigh as well as the signing of carols.

A Lunesdale Rotary Club spokeswoman said: “It is so good that an annual event in the Rotary Club of Lunesdale’s calendar could take place once again with the co-operation of staff from Booths store in Kirkby Lonsdale.

“Father Christmas in his sleigh, to the accompaniment of much loved carols, greeted customers at the store entrance.

“The club’s president John Clare helped to raise the amazing sum in excess of £600 which will be used to help deserving local causes.”
