1. Hotel crowned in top ten best in the Lake District

A hotel overlooking Windermere has been named one of the top ten most popular locations in the Lake District, according to a TripAdvisor survey.

The Beech Hill Hotel and Spa, which is located on Newby Bridge Road, was ranked as number ten in a survey conducted by hot tub suppliers Aqua Spa who analysed over 191,950 online reviews.

2. Mum's plea after 12-year-old left on ventilator

A PLEA for more awareness has been made by a mum to raise awareness of a Covid complication.

Katie Heddle says the life of her son, Logan, might not have been so touch-and-go if she had known previously about the existence of the condition.

3. School faced with closure praised in monitoring visit after 'inadequate' rating

A SCHOOL facing closure has been praised for the action it has taken since it received an inadequate Ofsted report rating.

The inspection in October was the first monitoring inspection since Wennington Hall School, Lancaster, was judged to have ‘serious weaknesses’ in July 2019.

4. Company's shock after delivery driver 'assaulted' twice

BOSSES of a popular burger business have expressed their shock after one of their drivers was physically and verbally ‘assaulted’ on two different occasions.

The delivery driver from Boom Burger in Kendal-which opened in the town last month-had his bike and then the back of his head hit allegedly by a passing cyclist on the cycle path on Shap Road.

5. Ambitious plan to transform Windermere takes step forward
