WHAT events do you have planned for the weekend? Why not give some of these events a try with your family?
1. Cinderella at the Bryce
Panto returns to the Bryce on January 7, 2022 with Cinderella. The famous story will be told nightly until January 15. Tickets are still available and must be purchased in advance. Adult tickets are £10 and children aged 0-16 are £8.
2. Dreaming and Seeding Yoga Retreat
Have you ever wanted to attend a yoga retreat? Well now you can, from January 7 till Monday 10, 2021 you can join the team for a three-night glamping retreat. This retreat includes 2x4 hr workshop time with a continental breakfast hamper and accommodation. The price for the retreat is £469.
3. Helvellyn mountain day
On Saturday 8m 2022 meet up at Rydal Road car park at 9am for a memorable mountain adventure. Ran by the Mammut Mountain School you will be able to explore the best views that the UK has to offer with the security of an experienced instructor. No previous experience is required for this adventure.
4. The Big Welcome
Join the team at the South Lakes Safari Zoo between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 8, 2022 for their big welcome to 2022. You will be able to take a look at the new bear house and feed the bears. Tickets are available through the South Lakes Safari website.
5. Gents Pairs Open
On Saturday 8, 2022 why not go down to Kendal Golf Club and take part in the Gents Pairs Open. Entry fee is £20 per pair, Any male any age can enter the competition and full details including timings are on the Kendal Golf Club website.
6. Maduro
Why not head down to Arnside Sailing Club at 8pm till 10pm to watch Maduro duo, Rob Duesbury and Laura Tattersall perform from a vast catalogue of jazz standards inspired from Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass. Tickets are still available for £6 for none members and free for club members.
7. DC Blues
On Sunday 9, 2022 you can head down to The Crafty Baa, Windermere fir a performance from the DC Blues who have been playing their own take on “the blues” with original material and selected covers since 2012.
8. Eddington Astronomical Society meeting
On the first Thursday of every month between 7pm and 9pm the Eddington Astronomical Society meet at the Kendal Museum. 2022 could be your year to join! Meetings generally start with a news round-up, then a break for tea or coffee, followed by a lecture.
9. Conservation day at Eycott Hill Nature Reserve
On Wednesday 12 at 10am why not head down to the Eycott Hill Nature Reserve and help with practical conservation as the team continue their transformation of the reserve.
10. Street Market
Why not head down to Ulverston with a mission to bag some bargains at the weekly market that takes place on Thursday's and Saturday's throughout the year.
