A CUMBRIAN man managed to go all the way on hit BBC gameshow The Wheel to win £24,000.
Richard, who works in the travel industry, was the first contestant to emerge from the wheel selector and was an instant entertainer with his excitable personality.
"It is fun money, it is all for the kids," the father-of-two said when asked by host Michael McIntyre what he would do with the money if he was to win.
"We can go to Florida and holidays to Portugal.
"I don't need a sofa, I have got a kettle, we are all set."
After getting the first question right he got sent back down after landing in the red zone.
He later returned in the final question after fellow contestant Calvin failed at two attempts at the big money.
Richard was lost for words when he won £24,000 after correctly answering that Trafalgar was the battle that took place at sea.
