PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has faced criticism from Labour Party members in Barrow as well as calls to resign following allegations he attended a gathering at Downing Street.

A leaked email from a senior Downing Street official inviting more than 100 employees to a "bring your own booze" party in the No 10 garden during Covid restrictions has caused outrage.

Voters have been sharing their views on the issue with some calling for the Prime Minister to resign.

Fbpe555 said; "He should resign, as Prime Minister and as a Member of Parliament. He is not above the law.

"He has made a mess of everything, he is not fit for the job and it's way past the time for him to go."

Barrow Born said: "Who cares, i certainly don't."

Norman G said: "Boris is not fit to lead. He and his wife need to go as soon as possible.

"They are liabilities to the Tory party and the odd bit of Latin does not make up for lack of intelligence or integrity."

Grumpy old biker said: "Was it not against the law at the time? People were fined and being hounded by the police for being out of their homes without good reason. It was lockdown."

Stuck in the middles said: "The example set by this Government is the ultimate insult. I've heard countless ministers defend Boris and the integrity of the conservatives is disappearing rapidly as a result.

"What needs to happen for Boris and any other minister to be held accountable? Let's be honest, doesn't matter what political beliefs you have, if you were to disregard the rules to the extent they have in your own line of work you would be unemployed."

Observer Corps asked: "Wasn't this the same time as police warned off the to women who were having a quiet walk with a cup of coffee?"

Hal Hill said: "Not sure how many attended the party from the 100 invites but you'd have thought least somebody would have suggested it's not a bight idea, given the strict lockdown we were under."
